Launching the Future Narratives Curriculum!
We are excited to announce the release of the Future Narratives Curriculum for Youth Work, a practical guide to the understanding, use and adaptation of our methodology.
Designed for youth workers, educators, practitioners, activists, and all those who wish to explore our approach empowering young people as active agents of change in their own lives,
communities, and societies.
The Curriculum offers:
- An introduction to how storytelling, narratives, and futures thinking spark agency and real-world change.
- What is Future Narratives? Explore the power of stories at personal, community, and societal levels, with accessible activities for experimentation.
- Futures Literacy made practical: what it is, why youth work needs it, and simple exercises to build the skill.
- Future Studies decoded: key concepts, the shift from prediction to possibility, and tools for critical futures thinking.
- The Future Narratives Pathway: a step-by-step route from personal stories to co-created future worlds, with learning objectives, activities, inclusion tips, and case studies from our work in a wide range of contexts.
- Inclusive facilitation: accessible, culturally responsive, trauma-informed guidance that meets diverse groups where they are.
- Assess what matters: clear principles and methods, plus ready-to-use feedback tools and facilitator checklists to track learning and impact.
The Curriculum is accessible and modular, allowing for adaptation to your specific context, whether you’re running a single workshop or a comprehensive program in schools, NGOs, or community spaces. Every section can be adapted to your group’s needs, time, and resources, with practical tips that make it easy to start, iterate, and scale. We hope it sparks ideas, new collaborations, and inspiration to create new stories and positive change. Join our learning community to share practice, swap tools, and co-create the futures we imagine.
