
Imagining Futures Through Performance
In this webinar, theatre-maker and futures thinker Pedro de Senna introduced Performance for Futures – a methodology that blends theatre and futures thinking to make alternative futures tangible, embodied, and emotionally resonant. Moving beyond charts and scenarios, the practice draws on Augusto Boal’s Theatre of the Oppressed and experiential futurism to help participants feel their relationship to the future, disrupt dominant assumptions, and rehearse new ways of being. From refugee camps to UN agencies, Pedro shared powerful examples of how performance can unlock creativity, agency, and collective imagination across diverse contexts.
