Future Narratives Curriculum for Youth Work

The Future Narratives Curriculum provides youth workers with theoretical knowledge, methodological and practical tools, as well as accessible guidance for use and adaptation in youth work to support young people in critically engaging with the future, building agency and co-creating alternative narratives. Chapters outline the role of narratives at personal, community and societal levels; key concepts in Futures Literacy and Future Studies; and a toolkit for critical futures thinking to challenge dominant narratives. Each stage provides learning objectives, step-by-step activities, inclusion tips, and case studies showing how methods work in different contexts. The curriculum is designed to be modular, adaptable, and transferable across schools, NGOs, and community settings, fostering innovative, participatory, and future-oriented approaches in youth work, enhancing professional capacity, and promoting transferability across Europe.
