Future, thoughts and magic. What else?

The future speaks to us with sudden thoughts, with banners and signs that we find everywhere and seem intended for us, with intuitions and emotions that communicate —“…this is not the way” or —“do it, it’s here”, even with fast images that we see inside our head in full colour.

The biologist Robert Rosen analysed how the biosphere, microbes, plants, animals, ecosystems…, are interconnected with a natural knowledge or wisdom that interacts as an integrated whole to inform, complement, feed back, transit and be part of each necessary moment with a united, integrated response to each process.

This model, later known as Anticipation in Future Studies (adapted in many versions), transcends time and space. It situates reality as a whole represented in different parts, and simultaneously showing numerous different forms of life, integrated and united, with its own intelligence, interdependent and with enough autonomy to be individually part of something bigger. Which does not respond but IS in its best version at every moment.

What if we humans in the time-space we have called life are also part of that system, integrated, self-sustaining, systemic and apparently autonomous.
Perhaps the future is just that innate knowledge, that natural sense that we have forgotten believing that we are something separate even from ourselves.

And in the meantime, and during…, we “magically” believe that the future is something to hope for, something to wish for or something to fear.

The Magical Thinking inherent and culturally linked to thinking in general and to Future Thinking (optional) has endowed Mr. Future with his own personality, that dark and gloomy being that lurks, and also that sweet and candid being that grants us the wishes sent to the clouds while we look at the sky longing for a better life.
And we go through, again and again, our lives, the lives of others from near or far, and all that we would like to live but that Mr. Future (magically…) does not place in the cone of the “possible”, the “probable” or the “projected one”…

We bet on the flip of a coin on one side or the other a decision. We play to validate an idea that if “the next car that passes is blue…”. We wear the lucky shirt when we need extra support, thinning out the daisy to know if we are loved or believe that wearing a scarf will keep us from catching a cold, but talking openly about the conscious use of magical thinking, no way, that’s too much!

Of course it’s too much. How are we to magically imagine a world closer to tragicomedy and extreme tragedy sustained and amplified. To talk about magic is foolish, insensitive, unacceptable in this world certainly.

And let’s not forget that we have to be serious people. Adults. Connected to reality, because reality is what it obviously is, neither projections, nor possibilities that have been validated, nor trends that are legitimized…

Hope is not lost, anyone who wants or needs some dose of magic in their life can find it in the science fiction section of HBO and Disney+, and anyone who can’t resist living magic on their skin can visit Disneyland “Where dreams come true.”

The most magical possibilities and realities, once we become responsible adults who have overcome waiting for Santa Claus gifts or seeing fairies in the forest, became the property of audiovisual corporations but for super affordable monthly fees we can once again experience how other beings do make magic, or how extrasensory powers are part of the life of normal people, how interplanetary interconnections are the daily life of the galaxy, how time and space cross by placing our hand on a stone-portal or how energy is so absolutely powerful, free and authentic that it could never be reduced to pass through a cable (of any kind). Then it will be enough to turn off the TV and return to reality, the real one, the normal one, the one we live in.

Because in the physical and electromagnetic field of infinite quantum possibilities so demonstrated and so unattainable -at the same time- scientifically, reality is what it is, period, and on this board we play and imagine.

Come on!

To imagine other futures we have to be able to imagine other worlds, despite the state of the world today.

The closest recognizable word that we all use “in secret” is magic. Let us continue with it.

Only one more step is needed.

Let us continue to secretly endow our lucky T-shirt with magical powers or talk to our plants because we know they listen to us, and also in private just a little bit every day, and in public -only when possible-, it will only be necessary to daydream, imagine big, think for a moment that we are superheroines, superheroes and that we have entered a hyperdimension where everything is real and that our super powers give us the gift of selecting the best. We just need to think for a moment in a world full of magic.

When we are done, we can go back to our home, our life, our present moment and be the normal people we seem to be.

But the magic will already be in the air and as part of the system we are part of wherever we are it will find us.
